Jimmy Choo Releases Coffee Table Book To Celebrate 15th Anniversary

To celebrate their 15th Anniversary, Jimmy Choo has released a coffee table book entitled JIMMY CHOO XV, published by Rizzoli. The book is available for early release exclusively in Jimmy Choo stores worldwide as of this month.

With an introduction by Tamara Mellon, OBE, Jimmy Choo Founder and Chief Creative Officer, JIMMY CHOO XV chronicles the 15 most significant shoes from the company’s archives and reflects on what has made them hallmarks of the brand style and renown. Through captivating imagery shot by photographers such as Mario Testino and Terry Richardson, editorial from the world’s top fashion magazines, paparazzi shots from the red carpet, design studio sketches and behind the scenes photography, the reader is taken on a visual tour through an anthology of these iconic Jimmy Choo creations. The company will donate one hundred percent of its revenues from the sale of the book to the Jimmy Choo Foundation, a charitable trust.

The book is divided into eight chapters, each focusing on the signature design and recognizable themes that have helped to define the brand. For example, Chapter One reflects on the celebrity icons that have helped define the brand, and highlights the ‘Feather’ shoe worn by Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, the shoe that brought Jimmy Choo onto every fashionista’s radar. Chapter Two focuses on the use of bold animal prints and provides examples for how this design theme was used to convey the brand’s ultimate confidence and femininity. Chapter Six addresses the power stiletto, and shows why heads of state and royals alike have chosen Jimmy Choo to take them through their paces. The brand’s history of award show dressing is legend, and Chapter Seven recounts memorable moments featuring actresses such as Hilary Swank, Sandra Bullock, Keira Knightly and Helen Mirren walking the red carpet in their Jimmy Choos.

As of 26 October 2011, JIMMY CHOO XV is available exclusively in Jimmy Choo stores worldwide with a deluxe edition featuring a snakeskin print embossed slipcase. The book will be available in fine booksellers worldwide from February 2012 (RRP for the deluxe edition is £60/$95/€70).
